Virtual Reality has become the hottest topic on everybody’s lips, and there isn’t a single soul who isn’t dying to try it – if they haven’t already.
The interesting thing about VR is that you can adapt it to anything, really. Not only can you instantly teleport to an alternative world, but you can do so from the comfort of your own house. However, wouldn’t it be even better if you could sit at your favourite bar, exploring endless ventures with your drink of choice and your closest mates?
Well, Otherworld sums that up perfectly, but it also is so, so much more.
The creators behind this revolutionary bar concept saw the unmissable opportunity of bringing an eclectic, holistic experience to their guests, transporting them to a virtual island paradise in the metaverse – the Luxury Virtual Resort.
Featuring dedicated, private immersion pods, with dynamic heat, wind and rumble effects, Otherworld showcases an unparalleled level of realism through a digital theme park, home to 16 of the world’s best VR games and experiences.
The adventures are endless once entered the metaverse; customers can explore distant planets, battle ancient evils and shoot zombies while having a drink at this Birmingham gem!
If you’re not in Birmingham much, fear not, Otherworld has two additional venues in London – Victoria and Hackney – and more locations opening soon in Manchester, Dublin and Edinburgh!
VR is not the only special feature at this futuristic venture; Otherworld Birmingham offers a 16-tap self-serve drinks wall featuring beer favourites like Peroni, Asahi, Lucky saint and Elephant Riders, as well as a wide variety of delicious cocktails from Black Lines, and all sort of softs and mocks for their alcohol-free clientele.
From taking a stroll along the beach and feeling the sun on their back, to keeping cool in the snow as they play with the penguins, the Resort also offers intra-season activities – all heightened by sipping high-quality beverages!
Like the real world, the island has its own currency; during the experience, guests will earn DreamCoin, which can be used to get discounts at the full-service bars nestled in Otherworld’s futuristic VR centres. Credited to and stored on customer profiles, DreamCoin accumulates over time and can be spent arbitrarily.
Making the most of the festivities, guests can earn double points over the Christmas Period, by visiting a candy cane-covered, snow plastered, Santa-loving oasis: Ghoston Gala. Thanks to 4D technology, patrons can feel the winter wind in their hair and the quake of a new world beneath their feet as they step into the Christmas Village, overrun by penguins and displaying a variety of nostalgic games.
Otherworld can host between 10 and 18 simultaneous players; in VR, guests see and hear each other in the form of virtual avatars – then take the headset off to grab a pint from the bar, or toast the victory against zombies with their teammates.
At Otherworld, everything is tailored to the guest experience, providing games of any kind and boasting a vast choice of premium beverages. Here, entertainment is taken to a whole other level, unforgettable memories are made, and new worlds unlocked.
