Berkshire-based brewery, Siren Craft Brew, is poised to make a significant mark by becoming the inaugural occupant of the Station Hill mixed-use development in Reading. In May of this year, Siren will unveil its first taproom and restaurant, signing a 15-year lease for 3,800 sq ft on Friars Walk. The establishment will serve an array of locally produced ales, porters, and lagers, injecting a vibrant hub into the heart of the town.
Station Hill, an £850 million development led by Lincoln MGT, promises a blend of office space, residential units, and retail and leisure areas. Siren’s presence aligns with the development’s commitment to fostering a diverse and dynamic town centre.
The brewery’s flagship taproom will coincide with the completion of the final phase of Ebb & Flow, the inaugural Build-to-Rent residential component of Station Hill, providing nearly 600 private and affordable homes.
Alex Aitchison, UK Managing Director for Lincoln, expressed delight at welcoming Siren Craft Brew, stating, “Their commitment to Reading mirrors our own, and we are delighted to support a local hero as they look to grow their presence across Reading and the UK.”
Darron Anley, the founder of Siren Craft Brew, shared his excitement, saying, “One of our all-time ambitions has been to open a flagship taproom in our home town of Reading, so it’s incredible to finally announce that we’re doing it.”
Siren Craft Brew envisions its Station Hill site as a destination for beer enthusiasts and a platform to showcase independent drink producers. The brewery is investing in a well-equipped kitchen and assembling a talented team to offer street-food-inspired dishes, creating job opportunities at all levels.
With a decade-long journey that started with a team of three, Siren Craft Brew has grown to over 60 people, producing almost four million pints (over six million cans) in 2022. The brewery now exports to 25 countries globally, self-distributes in the UK, and is stocked by major retailers and independent establishments, including Michelin-starred venues. Additionally, Siren Craft Brew sells directly to consumers through its website and on-site taproom.
