Last week Bar and Club magazine supported a group of leading figures from the hospitality industry who completed the inaugural Hospitality Rides cycle challenge. This incredible feat saw 29 industry professionals push their physical limits on a 400km sponsored cycle across Taiwan, all in aid of the Licensed Trade Charity (LTC) and Only A Pavement Away.
Hospitality Rides, now an annual international sponsored bike ride, was rebranded in 2024 from its previous incarnation, Pedalling For Pubs.
“What an absolutely phenomenal achievement by everyone involved,” remarked Katy Moses, founder of Hospitality Rides. “Taiwan proved to be the hardest ride to date, so I have so much respect for everyone who was a part of the journey. To have raised over £400,000 is truly inspiring and a testament to the incredible generosity and dedication within our industry. These vital funds will directly support the invaluable work of the LTC and Only A Pavement Away, making a real difference to countless lives in hospitality.”
Building on this resounding success, organisers have already announced that the next fundraising challenge will take place in spring 2026, with cyclists set to embark on an adventurous journey across Cuba.
Alongside its sister ride, Pedalling 2 Pubs, the two events have now collectively exceeded £1.5 million in fundraising since their inception, showcasing the incredible philanthropic spirit within the UK’s hospitality sector.
